Kitten heels are like training wheels for the blossoming fashionista. Originally crafted by French shoe designer Roger Vivier, kitten heels were the shoes young girls embraced in order to emulate their stiletto-clad mothers. Kitten heels, with their shorter and more modest height, offered young women a more conservative approach to sexy.
Back in the 1950s, kitten heels were seen as the youthful sister of the sexier and more suggestive stiletto heel. If stiletto-wearing women were the fierce and dominating cats of the societal jungle, it seems appropriate that their younger and more modest sister be considered shy and playful kittens.
As of late, stilettos have been commandeering the runways and the workplace. But the kitten heel is back on the prowl and is quickly claiming its way back to fame. We’re going to let the ‘cat out of the bag’ on this one, and highlight our newest style of kitten heel by UKIES. Check out our full collection of comfortable pumps today!
