New Year, New Style: 4 Shoe Trends to Watch in 2017

A new year means new shoe trends to explore, and 2017 is full of amazing styles to add to your shoe collection. Let's take a look at this year's emerging shoe trends that are set to dominate the runway!

High Heels and Kitten Heels

Our first stop is heels. Designers are incorporating straps and buckles into both high heels and kitten heels.

Some of the latest styles we've seen have leather straps that tie around the ankle to create a sexy look. Designers are also adding big buckles to straps, accentuating the shoes and creating a distinctive style. Some designers incorporate thin straps into their shoes, allowing women to bare a little more skin.

UKIES offers a fashionable pair of kitten heels called the Phyllis in silver. They don't have straps, but all it takes is some creative thinking to explore this shoe trend. For example, wear some jewelry with these shoes, such as bedazzled leather ankle bracelets. You could even play around with ribbon and make cute bow ties around your ankles.

Get a similar look with no foot or ankle discomfort; it's a win-win!

This year's emerging boot trends include wild color palettes and uniquely-shaped heels. Some designers are experimenting with a wild mixture of neon colors and funky patterns that scream adventure and excitement. Also, be on the lookout for prominent block heels with quirky designs, which give off a bold, sturdy look.

If you prefer a more subtle style and you'd rather wear sturdy, comfy boots in a neutral color, go with the Monica in black Nappa. This classic style has a 3-inch heel and a round, closed toe. Dress them up or down.

To experiment with bold, bright colors in a more understated way, pair these classic boots with a bold-patterned jean jacket or jewel-colored sweater.

Platform Shoes

A popular trend we have noticed with platform shoes is the extraordinary colors and designs of the platform area. We're talking about bedazzled platforms and platforms with floral patterns.

These accents give platforms a more pronounced look than a traditional a solid color, but we recognize that they aren't everyone's style. If you like a pop of color but prefer to keep your platforms simple, give our Andrea style a try. In midnight metallic blue Nappa, you can rock a casual look that turns heads. Consider wearing them with pants that have bedazzled pockets.

This year's flat shoe styles are adorned with ankle straps and unique accents. These trends add a touch of sophistication to a traditional flat shoe. Get your hands on a polished pair of flats such as the Leona in dark taupe Nappa. The Leona's unique kiltie detailing adds visual interest, for a modern yet timeless look.

Are you willing to rock any of these trends in 2017? If so, get started with a pair or two of stylish flats now. Enjoy luxurious style with lasting comfort!
