Why Women Really Love Shoes

Why Women Really Love Shoes

Flats, heels, boots, ballets, sandals, brogues, platforms, wedges, strappy sandals… if your heart is pumping and you’re reaching for your wallet, you may be one of the many shoe addicts that live among us.

It’s a fairly well-known fact that most women love shoes, on average, a woman owns 20 pairs of shoes at any given time. Many own more.

When sales of most things drop in a recession, shoes do not, in fact, they often go up!

The Top 5 Reasons Women Love Heels:

    • Shoes do not discriminate
    • High heels make you taller and fell more powerful
    • High heels make you stand straight and feel more confident
    • Shoes can update an outfit
    • High heels make us feel sexy

Shoes do not discriminate

Psychologically many believe that our love of shoes, and likewise handbags, is because shoe size rarely fluctuates with either weight or age. This means buying shoes doesn’t come with some of the worries and self-esteem issues that trying on clothes might have.

There is no bad feelings or body concerns if a pair of shoes doesn’t fit well, unlike clothing.

Heels  make us look great

High heel shoes also lengthen the look of our legs and give bottoms a lift, while a slight heel will force to stand up straight and not slouch, making you feel more confident.

Heels can update your wardrobe instantly

A new pair of shoes has many amazing effects, such as to instantly refresh last year’s outfit or just make you feel incredibly sexy.

They also immediately give an outfit something extra, if you suddenly need to look more dressed up or professional then a pair of heels will do the trick. Many office workers keep a spare pair of heels under their desks in case they are suddenly called to an important meeting or invited out to a social gathering after work.

Perhaps during the recession women were being practical and saving by buying shoes, with the rationale that a whole new outfit would be more expensive than a pair of shoes which would quickly update an old look.

Heels make us feel sexy

Heels make us feel sexier, we look great, we’re standing tall and feel confident, we feel prepared for a situation and that our outfit is fresh and updated which adds to our confidence.
